How rude. I never properly introduced myself.
Hi, I’m Rohan, but my friends call me Ro. I think I bring a perspective to the table that most people can relate to (which tends to be helpful in writing). To put it briefly, I’m a mixed-black kid with an Indian name raised by a single white mom in a predominantly Mexican neighborhood. I live in that underrated space between cultures. As a child, this no-man's-land was confusing, but as an adult, I have grown to understand the value of my melting pot background. It has allowed me to be a social chameleon who can befriend anyone.
Professionally, I am obsessed with how we exchange ideas like currency. Even if they never really belonged to us in the first place. I believe all ideas are borrowed, and it's our job as creatives to rifle through the noise, find what speaks to us, and share it. It puts a smile on my face to think that we are all playing with the same deck of cards. Originality comes in the way we play our hand; how we communicate and present these ideas—borrowing them for a little show and tell. Life gets fun when we start to connect the dots and build bridges for others to walk across.
